The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final merit list for the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024, for the Officer Training Academy (OTA). A total of 590 candidates (470 Men and 120 Women) have been recommended for admission to the following courses, which will begin in April 2025 at the Officer Training Academy, Chennai:

• 121st Short Service Commission (Men) (Non-Technical)
• 35th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical)

Breakdown of Vacancies

As per the official notification, the vacancies for these courses are as follows:

• 275 vacancies for the 121st Short Service Commission (Men) Course
• 18 vacancies for the 35th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course

Merit List Details

The merit list consists of candidates who passed the written examination conducted by UPSC and successfully completed the SSB interviews conducted by the Ministry of Defence. Notably, medical examination results were not considered when preparing the merit list.

• Provisional Status: Verification of candidates’ Date of Birth and Educational Qualifications will be carried out by the Army Headquarters.
• The list for the 121st Short Service Commission (Men) Course includes some candidates previously recommended for other prestigious academies such as the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.

• Access to Results: The final merit list and further details are available on the official UPSC website: www.upsc.gov.in.
• Marks Disclosure: Candidates’ marks will be published on the website within 15 days of the result declaration and will remain available for 30 days.
• Public Disclosure of Scores: Non-recommended candidates can request the public disclosure of their scores through the UPSC website.
