Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan celebrated Diwali alongside members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard stationed in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, sharing in the festivities and boosting morale across the forces. On October 29, he joined the Diwali Mela, a celebration filled with joy and unity, enhancing the festive spirit among service personnel. The General also attended a special Bara-Khana organized in honor of the brave troops committed to protecting India’s borders.
During his visit to Sri Vijaya Puram, General Chauhan addressed officers of the Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC), who were engaged in a Joint Services exercise. He discussed mission preparedness, commending their relentless dedication to safeguarding India’s sovereignty. Later, at Military Station Brichgunj, the CDS celebrated the festive evening with Joint Services personnel, attending cultural programs and extending heartfelt Diwali wishes.
The presence of General Chauhan at the Bara-Khana fostered a sense of camaraderie, reinforcing the dedication and spirit of “Service Before Self.” He expressed admiration for the ANC team’s unyielding service to India’s security and extended Diwali greetings to all ranks, encouraging unity and festive cheer.
