Indian Air Force Airlifts Live Organs from Pune to Delhi, Facilitating Life-Saving Surgery

This mission demonstrates the Indian Air Force's vital role in supporting critical healthcare operations beyond military duties, showcasing its integral role in #SavingLives and executing #MissionCritical tasks.

An IAF C-17 Globemaster aircraft flew from Hindan late at night on a high-priority medical mission. It carried a team of medical specialists from the R&R Military Hospital to conduct a coordinated effort to make a Green Air Corridor available for transporting live organs from Pune to Delhi, thus facilitating an operation to save a life.

The swiftness with which the IAF coordinated the movement and managed the deployment of the C-17 ensured that the organs reached their destination in time to be used for the transplant process. This operation by the IAF underlines the force’s capability to respond in good time to medical emergencies, further reinforcing its people-first, mission-always philosophy.

Medical specialists from R&R Military Hospital handled the organs with utmost care and precision during transportation, giving them a great chance of being used in a very successful surgery. This mission epitomises the support provided by the Indian Air Force for back-end operations on this side of critical health care, besides its traditional military role. The force is integral to #SavingLives and completing #MissionCritical tasks when called upon.
